Annie Leonhart was one of the major characters in the Shingeki no Kyoji universe through the first few arcs of the story. As the manga enters its final phase, the more reasons to believe that Annie will soon make her presence felt soon, perhaps the upcoming chapter set for release next week in January edition of Bessatsu Monthly Shonen on December 8th.
The Return of the Female Titan!
Why should Annie make her comeback in the series? Honestly, the question isn't that complicated. First and foremost, Annie is still alive. She's currently in a coma state, protected by impenetrable shell around her.
Yes, she's stored several meters below the ground under the custody of the Military Police. However, there's little doubt Annie can break out of that prison if she wants to. Being one of the strongest titan shifters introduced in the manga series, it's just a matter of time before the Female Titan rises again.
Motivation Behind Comeback
There are two reasons why Hajime Isayama will put Annie back into the fray. The first is that she has unsettled business with the Rogue Titan, Eren Yeager, the foe who defeated in the battle of Wall Sina.
The other is which side she will be joining. The first option is to continue the role as Eldian warrior of the Marleyan government, leading to the complete destruction of the Eldian civilization. On the other hand, she could take on a new path. A path the will lead to the salvation of her race and loved ones from the control of the Marleys.
When will Annie return?
The popular speculation on Annie's comeback is at some point during the final face-off between the Survey Corps and the Warriors led by Zeke and Reiner Braun. In short, Annie's presence is going to be a game-changer in the future battle to come. Then again, there's a possibility Annie could appear as early as the next chapter. Who know?
