'Pokemon Go' Release Date, News & Update: Not 'OVER' After All?
"Pokemon Go" is Google's most downloaded mobile game app for 2016. The result was based on the download figures gathered from the Google PlayStore.
The "Pokemon Go" is this year's best Android game, as announced by Google. Meantime, more than 65 billion apps have reportedly been downloaded to the Android devices from the Google PlayStore last year by Android users in 190 countries across the globe. Google's video-calling app "Duo" is named as the most downloadable app that allows video calling to anyone on the contact list, similar to Apple's FaceTime or Skype.
However, the title "Best App 2016" was awarded instead to Prisma, an app that turns photos into realistic looking paintings by the use of artificial intelligence. Meanwhile, "Pokemon Go", an addictive augmented reality, mobile game that allows players to capture Pokemon characters in the real world, has been named as the most downloaded app. Aside from this, Google also reportedly gave "Pokemon Go" the title "Best Game 2016."
Meantime, the other games included in the top five Best Android games list are: "Clash Royale", "Ultimate Ninja Blazing", "Dream League Soccer" and "slither.io", Mirror reported. In other news, Niantic is reported to release several updates for "Pokemon Go" before the year ends. In fact, Gen 2 Pokemon from the Johto region is also expected to join the roster for the upcoming 2017 update. Given such, "Pokemon Go" does not seem to stop conquering the mobile gaming world.
"Pokemon Go" trainers have a lot of things to wait for as well in the forthcoming Gen 2 update. Based on reports, the game evolves in an attention-seeking type of way. As earlier confirmed, "Pokemon Go" Gen 2 is set to unveil after the release of Gen 1's final Pokemon, which is rumored to be legendary creatures like Mewtwo, Mew, Moltres, Zapdos and Articuno.
