PS4 Pro Latest News & Update: New Firmware Update 4.0.6 Fixes OLED, 4K Gaming Lag Issue; TV Brands No Comment Yet

The PlayStation 4 Pro users have been complaining about 4K feature of the console as it is not working with player's 4K television. To fix this, Sony has released a new patch 4.06, a mandatory update to all PS4 Pro users.

Sony's PlayStation 4 Pro was recently released in the market with out of the box software version 4.0 installed. It was speculated that the pre-installed version on PS4 Pro was the culprit of lag issues and the 4K problem that many users had experienced.

According to Polygon, Sony took the complaints and released a patch that hopefully will fix the issue. However, the patch version 4.05 released in October caused more troubles with the players. Most of the PS4 Pro users were getting No Signal error after they have downloaded the firmware.

PS4 Pro user Bravo514 posted in Reddit his experience when he downloaded the patch version 4.05, "Plugged my Pro in and it booted up in beautiful 2160p. Then it asked me to update to 4.05. After update - no signal. I thought my Pro was fried." He said that it took him time before he was able to fix the issue.

The 4K and HDR video issue on TV while using PS4 Pro varies to what kind of TV brand the players are using. Sony pointed out the problem to TV manufacturers as to why its PlayStation 4 Pro was acting differently. However, Sony has released new patch update version 4.06 to rectify the problem.

On the other hand, there are no comments yet from TV manufacturers about 4K issues on Sony PlayStation 4 Pro except for LG. According to Forbes, LG said that it will also provide a solution to its TV via a software upgrade that will be released at the end of November.

Meanwhile, if the Sony PS4 Pro patch update version 4.06 will not resolve player's issue, Bravo514 posted a step-by-step workaround to fix the no signal problem. The result will vary, which depends if the TV brand is not causing the problem.
