La Liga News and Updates: Barcelona 1-1 Real Madrid in El Clásico

Sergio Ramos scored a late-time equalizer and extended Real Madrid's 33-game unbeaten run in El Clásico, prompting a 1-1 draw with Barcelona.

Real Madrid went in the game with a good position from the beginning, until Luis Suarez headed a Neymar free kick home in the 53rd minute. The host dominated the second half and had three chances to extend their lead. Unfortunately, Neymar, Andres Iniesta and Lionel Messi missed the opportunity and unable to close the gap with Real Madrid.

Suarez's goal looked to be enough to secure a victory for Barcelona until Ramos headed a Luka Modric free kick before the clock struck 90 minutes. The Real Madrid defender has established a reputation for scoring late goals in crucial games like this. Zinedine Zidane went on to praise Ramos, saying, "In games like this, Sergio is always there." Ramos claimed that a never-die attitude is part of Madrid's DNA, and for this game, that spirit shine through.

The goal extended Real Madrid's unbeaten 33-game run and retained their six-point lead over their chief rivals. Dani Carvajal got carried away in the ensuing celebration after Ramos's late-minute goal and gave the bird to the fans at Camp Nou. The defender later apologized on Twitter. Meanwhile, Neymar fouled Lucas Vásquez in the first half and picked up his fourth yellow card in the game and will not play next Saturday.

A win from Barcelona would have closed the six-point gap to three, but the host had to settle for their third league draw on Saturday. Real Madrid remains unbeaten for this season.
