NBA Trade Rumors: Paul George Headed To The Boston Celtics In Blockbuster Deal Involving 3 Player

Apparently, the Boston Celtics are still not yet done looking for any available superstars that they can acquire to beef up their roster.  According to the latest NBA rumor, the Boston Celtics are looking to get 3 time NBA All-Star small forward Paul George of the Indiana Pacers in exchange for 3 players.

The Boston Celtics still hopes to acquire another superstar that would help the team contend with other powerhouse teams like the West's Golden State Warriors, San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Clippers, and the East's Cleveland Cavaliers and Toronto Raptors. The Boston Celtics have a 12-8 record and are currently in third place in the Eastern Conference.

Even though the Boston Celtics have acquired one of the biggest free agents in the off season in power forward/center Al Horford, the Boston Celtics seems to be not content with their current line up and is said to be making moves to make a deal work for the Indiana Pacers Paul George.  Al Horford signed a four-year max deal worth $113 million contract with the Boston Celtics during the summer.

With the Boston Celtics having a lot of tradeable assets and a lot of future draft picks at their disposal, it only fueled rumors and speculations that the Boston Celtics would make a move for Paul George.  Under the proposed deal, the Indiana Pacers would receive Jae Crowder, Amir Johnson, Kelly Olynyk and four future draft picks.  The Boston Celtics would then get Paul George.

Some observers say that the Boston Celtics are giving up a lot of players and draft picks just for one player.  But a lot would say however that an elite type of player like Paul George is worth trading three players and four future draft picks for.  This 2016-2017 NBA season, Paul George is averaging 20.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game in the 12 games he has played so far this season.

The only question now is will the Indiana Pacers President of Basketball Operations Larry Bird make the deal.  As it is, the Indiana Pacers have a 9-10 record.  They are currently in 10th place in the Eastern Conference.  Larry Bird have also said that the Indiana Pacers are committed to keeping Paul George and are planning to sign him to a contract extension.  But in a recent interview with ESPN, Paul George has stated that he has no interest in signing an extension.  If the report is true, expect Larry Bird to make a deal with the Boston Celtics.
