'Horizon: Zero Dawn' Release Date, News & Updates: Concept and New Details Revealed During PSX 2016

"Horizon: Zero Dawn" from Guerilla Games was one of the highlights during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016, but the upcoming game was still shrouded in mystery. However, the creators behind the title have somehow shed some light during the PlayStation Experience (PSX) 2016 which took place in Anaheim, California.

When the trailer of "Horizon: Zero Dawn" was first unveiled" it offered a world with a rich environment and some of the players of the gaming community already had the desire to explore its universe. At the same time, the game also carries a lot of mysteries that are just waiting to be uncovered by gamers.

According to reports, Hermen Hulst, the Managing Director of Guerilla Games, spoke during the panel of "Horizon: Zero Dawn" during PSX 2016. Hulst mentioned that it was really the intention of the developers that the game should be full of secrets. Guerilla also intended that the players of the upcoming title should be the one to find the answers for the mysteries that are underlining the game.

Hulst also explained the reason why the pushed through with "Horizon: Zero Dawn" because the concept behind it was enthralling. Based on reports, he also stated that its concept was really loved at the studio and the team behind the game could not resist its development. Moreover, Hulst gave more details about the title that its setting is 1,000 years into the future. However, he clarified that it is not set at an apocalyptic period and that it can be compared to a documentary of BBC Nature.

In the world of "Horizon: Zero Dawn," the species that are dominating are mechanical beasts, and humankind is struggling to survive with them. Hulst also explained that the main protagonist of the game is named Aloy and she has the qualities of a female heroine. In addition, the title will center around three elements which are Aloy, the amazing environment, and the mechanical beasts. The gameplay has drawn inspiration from a David vs. Goliath set-up.

"Horizon: Zero Dawn" is anticipated to arrive on February 28. It is still not confirmed if it will also be released in other platforms, but as of now, it is exclusive for PlayStation 4.
