Microsoft Introduces ‘Minecraft Coding’: The New Series of Challenges to Teach Kids Programming! Latest News & Update

Today is the first day of Computer Science Education Week. Microsoft, furthermore, has unveiled a new "Minecraft Coding" tutorial along with Code.org to inspire kids to try coding. It was created by game designers from Mojang and Microsoft in partnership with Code.org. The Minecraft Code Time Designer teaches students how to create their own "Minecraft" experience where they can program the rules.

Aspiring programmers use Code.org's drag-and-drop coding interface to learn computer science concepts such as object-oriented programming, event handlers, and repeat loops. Students go through a series of 12 challenges, which is finished with creating their own simple game, which they can share with friends. In an introductory video subtitled in Portuguese, the creative design leader of Minecraft talks about the new round of educational platform challenges and explains the tasks inside "Minecraft Coding."

The educational game of "Minercraft Coding" is web based. It works in the browser and you do not need to download and install plugins. The cool thing is that the whole platform is translated into several languages beside English. In November 2015, Microsoft launched the "Minecraft Adventurer", which was the first series of challenges to teach youngsters the basics of creation.

However, the upcoming series is much more helpful for kids. Also, the interface, looks, feels, and gameplay of "Minecraft Coding" is way more interesting. Microsoft hope, this innovation could motivate young generation who is interested in programming to learn the upcoming coding technology available.

This game is a still a simple brick-look characters. However, Microsoft has modified the look and gameplay using code submission to do certain command. With this, Microsoft helps the students to improve their logical thoughts, numbering, and critical thinking throughout "Minecraft Coding."
