'Winds of Winter' Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: George R.R. Martin Describes The Upcoming Book A Dark Tale; Many Deaths To Come

Thousands of fans wonder when "Winds of Winter" will be coming out as fans begin to question what the latest development for their favorite characters are. "Winds of Winter" author George R.R. Martin did have a quick interview at the Guadalajara International Book Fair where the writer talked about the upcoming book title.

 George R.R. Martin On 'Winds of Winter'

At the said event, George R.R. Martin opened up what fans can expect from "Winds of Winter" and how will the story develop in the next book. Martin didn't have anything to say about the "Winds of Winter" except that it will be a dark sequel to the "Song of Ice and Fire" lore.

Martin added that the author is currently writing dark chapters in the book and some of the pages will have many death scenes involving some favorite characters. The "Winds of Winter" author also stated that winter is the time of the year where everything dies and cold, ice, and darkness consumes the world, thus making "Winds of Winter" not having a happy-feel good ending many fans have hoped for.

George R.R. Martin further stated that a story's classic structure is that things are going to get worse before it gets better. Meaning, the "Winds of Winter" will be the worst thing characters will go through until it gets better again.

Martin ended the interview with the "Winds of Winter" author addressing on the eventual conclusion of the epic "Song of Ice and Fire" saga that will soon be happening in the seventh book, "Dream of Spring." George R.R. Martin stated that the writer is not a fan of happy endings, but George R.R. Martin gives the fans as much as a bittersweet finale more than a happy one.

George R.R. Martin didn't officially revealed when "Winds of Winter" will be released, but there is still a long way until "Song of Ice and Fire" will be finished as the TV series counterpart, "Game of Thrones" has two seasons left in its time frame.
