Naughty Dog featured prominently during last weekend's PlayStation Experience as well as a new look at the Crash Bandicoot classics collection and having closed the event with a bang called "The Last of Us: Part II." The studio also opened in force, with "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy," a standalone adventure that will follow Chloe and Nadine.
After the presentation and conversation with those present on a dedicated panel, creative director Shaun Escayg confirmed that "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy" will take place after the events of "Uncharted 4: The End of a Thief." "The End of a Thief will be played at the beginning of the "Lost Legacy."
According to Forbes, the setting for "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy" will be India. The writer, Josh Scherr says the studio has studied Hinduism and mythology in the region in depth to set up the game world. Director Kurt Margenau has ensured that the setting shown at the revelation will not be the only place Chloe will visit.
Shaun emphasized that "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy" will have a story especially focused on the figure of Chloe. Furthermore, while it's a totally different approach to Drake's adventures, it will fit perfectly into the context of the Uncharted universe, with Chloe searching for a treasure piece known as Tusk of Ganesha.
As for gameplay, Margenau says Chloe will have "her own fighting personality," and she will not be as brawly as Nathan Drake. Margenau also spoke about the length of the game, which will be "longer than "The Last of Us" DLC but shorter than "Uncharted 4." Additionally, we can expect the same style of drawing of broader, more linear levels that the studio has conducted. In fact, "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy" will be "even broader" with Margenau suggesting immense driving moments, which will showcase Chloe's abilities behind the wheel.
