Sandlot's upcoming third-person shooter, Earth Defense Force 2025, has received more details regarding the upcoming DLC and pre-order bonuses that players are entitled to if they grab the title when it releases next year.
Revealed first via the Official PlayStation Blog, fans who decide to pre-order the game via GameStop will be entitled to receive the Air Raiders Weapons Pack.
The Air Raiders Weapons Pack will include the Pure Decoy Launcher which is a giant decoy balloon in the shape of an attractive woman, alongside the BMO3 Vegalta Gold – a gold-coated gun that helps reflecting radar waves, can operate as a flamethrower, and also lets the player fly for short stages of time.
The company states that it also has plans to include additional weapons Packs that will be made available to fans via pre-order or in the form of future DLC, and will include a number of weapons pack like the Fencer Weapons Pack, the Wing Diver Weapons Pack and the Ranger Weapons Pack.
The Fencer Weapons Pack will offer weapons like Ifrit, a cannon that launches rockets that separate and disperse over the sea, with each rocket being equipped with multiple incendiary bombs that will ignite upon contact, causing massive damage, and Blood Storm, another cannon that will midair and rain down on the enemy’s head and inflict damage on an entire area.
The Wing Diver Weapons Pack will offer the Reflection Laser – “A special laser that fires in two directions and can even shoot through narrow passageways. It’s an effective weapon with giant insects, as it can maximize range without obstruction,” and Gleipnir – a super weapon that “silently discharges balls of energy with the ability to launch continuous attacks. Only Wing Divers can use this weapon, as it requires the Psionic Link.”
And lastly, the Ranger Weapons Pack will offer Volatile Napalm – a military discharge device that sets everything ablaze and damages the target and surrounding areas, and Pure Decoy Launcher (Mian) which “distracts the enemy by discharging a large balloon that takes the shape of an attractive female, but the enemies will meet their fate when the balloon unexpectedly self destructs, destroying everything in its vicinity.”
Apart from offering over 700 weapons and four-player online multiplayer – which is a first for the series on console – Earth Defense Force 2025 is currently scheduled to be available in February 2014.
