"Diablo 3" may be the existing powerhouse of the franchise thus far, but the fact that fans have wanted another title is still quite epidemic. Given the popularity of the franchise through the course of the years, "Diablo 3" seems to be stagnant as of late, but for a good cause.

It was reported that Blizzard Entertainment's "Diablo 3" had some surprises lined up for their fans-and indeed, they did. The recent announcement of the Rise of the Necromancer downloadable content update got the attention of many, and in the same manner, the question on whether a fourth title will emerge.

According to recent reports, one of the most impressive moves to have been done by Blizzard Entertainment to "Diablo 3" is adding the original game within the existing. Given that the original "Diablo" title was considered a classic, the title was recreated using the engine of "Diablo 3" through the downloadable patch known as "The Darkening of Tristram."

Past tweets have justified how Blizzard Entertainment is putting its back on the new contents for "Diablo 3," instead of coming up with a fourth title respectively. Though it may be something that fans want, it can be recalled that the interval between "Diablo 2" and "Diablo 3" was a whopping ten years, which could mean something similar for the fourth.

BlizzCon 2016 also disintegrated any potential news on "Diablo 4" thus far, rendering things somewhat hopeless for those awaiting announcements. That being said, "Diablo 3" may be sticking around for a while, especially as the focus seems to be directed mostly towards the downloadable content updates. On a more positive note, the Necromancer's return has received quite a massive liking from the crowd, given that it was one of the most popular heroes ever created for the game.

Is Blizzard preparing for something big in terms of a potential fourth installment? Or are fans left dealing with the year-old third title? Stay tuned for more "Diablo 3" news here at GamenGuide as the Rise of the Necromancer crawls to its 2017 release.
