Xbox One Release Date, Specs, Games, Price, Tech: Xbox One Day One Edition Xbox Live Cards Available Now

Some Retailers Have Begun Selling Xbox One Day One Edition Xbox Live Cards

There's still a bit of time left to go before Microsoft's next-gen Xbox One releases, but if you want to get ready for a lot of online gaming come launch time, you may want to pick up the phone and start making some calls to your local stores. It seems that ahead of the console's November 22 launch, a number of retailers right here in the States have already begun selling the Day One editions of Xbox Live Cards for the new console.

A number of gamers have already picked up their own, and shared their haul with the rest of the world via Twitter. As you can see from the above picture, these things are indeed pretty damn slick looking, all shiny n' silvery...

Best Buy seems to be the primary source for the early access, so I'd reccomend starting your search there if you can't wait around for another two weeks. The only catch is that a number of the users on Twitter also had pre-orders on the cards, so that might be the reason for their early celebration. Whatever the case, I'd still advise calling ahead of time to save you the trip. Best of luck to you.

The cards cost $59.99 and include 12 months of Xbox Live Gold, the Killer Instinct: Round One digital download for Xbox One, and the Shadow Jago costume. According to Microsoft, they will be available only for a limited time.

Microsoft's Xbox One launches on Nov. 22, and will be available in Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, UK, and the United States for $499.

The new console claims an 8-core x86 processor and Microsoft hopes it will take the place of the family room cable box by letting you watch Blu-ray movies and TV through the console, in a "seamless transition" that lets players switch from playing games to watching shows and/or movies. It will come fully loaded with 8GB of RAM and a 500GB hard drive.

The following games will be available on the console at launch:

- Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
- Battlefield 4
- Call of Duty: Ghosts
- Crimson Dragon
- Dead Rising 3
- FIFA 14
- Fighter Within
- Forza Motorsport 5
- Just Dance 2014
- Killer Instinct
- LEGO Marvel Super Heroes
- Lococycle
- Madden NFL 25
- NBA 2K14
- NBA LIVE 14
- Need for Speed: Rivals
- Peggle 2
- Powerstar Golf
- Ryse: Son of Rome
- Skylanders: Swap Force
- Zoo Tycoon
- Zumba Fitness: World Party

A cross-country tour where Microsoft is demoing the system at various locations is already underway, and demo kiosks have begun arriving at certain retailers.
