Chevrolet confirmed the release of their 2017 Cruze Diesel Sedan which will offer its sale next year. Together with the announcement, the company revealed its pricing information that will make automakers automatically rethink of buying this luxurious car.
With starting price of $24,670, the new 2017 Cruze Diesel Sedan has a 1.6-liter turbodiesel engine that produces 136 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque. The engine was used under General's Motors' Opel in Europe. It also includes LED daytime running lights, satellite radio on a 7-inch touchscreen and a six-speaker audio system. 2017 Cruze Diesel Sedan buyers will get an option between a nine-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual.
In addition, 2017 Cruze Diesel Sedan has a Convenience Package that adds keyless entry and starts, power driver's seat, and heated front seats. Aside from Convenience Package, there's also the so-called The Leather Package for $1,125. It adds leather on the seats and dashboard.
The Confidence Package for the 2017 Cruze Diesel can also be added if the automatic transmission owners wish to have Bose nine-speaker audio system, a color screen between the gauges, 8-inch touchscreen, power sunroof, and interior ambient lighting. The owners can also have a rear parking sensor, rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot monitoring.
Chevrolet also confirmed that Cruze hatchback availability will be released soon. With 2017 Cruze Diesel Sedan, Cruze hatchback will get the same diesel engine and transmission offerings. However, there is no further announcement regarding the price for the hatchback model.
Despite decreasing automakers that use diesel these days, General Motors will still continue to use the engine. That's the reason why they will present the 2017 Cruze Diesel Sedan early next year. Furthermore, Mazda had recently revealed their latest diesel variant of CX-5 crossover in Los Angeles. Auto Show and new BMW's will also release their automobiles version soon.
