Xbox Project Scorpio Latest News & Update: Microsoft Wants Appropriate Pricing & Super Mario for Scorpio

Microsoft is talking about the future of its upcoming next-generation console Xbox Project Scorpio and a potential crossover with Nintendo titles. Xbox division head Phil Spencer said that the tech giant envisions appropriate price tag for Xbox Project Scorpio. Then he added that Nintendo's trademark plumber Mario has a place in Microsoft's heart.

Remember that Xbox Project Scorpio sports what Microsoft called as "top of the line" components. While this is a very welcome development, it also stirred fears among gamers that it can quantify to higher price tag. However, Spencer said that while Xbox Project Scorpio is comparable to high-end rigs, the idea is not to compete - at least in terms of pricing.

Xbox Project Scorpio is well-accepted as the most powerful gaming console even a year before it unleashes. GameNGuide leans on previous announcement from Xbox marketing that the pricing could be "very high-end." Let us just hope that whoever bursts the description was misquoted and the price won't reach mile-high when Xbox Project Scorpio hits the street.

Meanwhile, Spencer said that while he is die-hard fan of upcoming Xbox Project Scorpio, he still believes in Nintendo supremacy. Then he quickly recanted by saying that he is referring to first-party games. He calls Nintendo fantastic with Mario on their fence. After all, almost every gaming generation knows and played Super Mario, Tech Radar reported.

Spencer believed that exclusivity on Nintendo titles have been changing recently and Mario might find a road to Xbox Project Scorpio in the future. Come to think of it, Microsoft's "Minecraft" have found its way to Nintendo Wii U and the reverse is also possible to happen. While Xbox Project Scorpio-Super Mario marriage might still be a far-flung idea for now, anything can happen. After all, Mario is already en route to iOS next week.

What do you think? Can Super Mario get through Xbox Project Scorpio? Wouldn't it be nice for the game of our youth to invade the console of the future?
