'Pokemon Go' Latest News & Update: Generation 2 Update Features Holiday Event, Shiny Pokemons, Gender Identifier
"Pokemon GO" players are getting hyped for the possibility of catching legendary or even new set of rare monsters as Niantic Labs taunts an update for next week. Players anticipate Mewtwo and other much sought-after "Pokemon GO" characters as time looms for update release.
Here is the good news; "Pokemon GO" left some traces and hints of possible changes next week in their previous update. The Silph Road dissected "Pokemon GO" update v0.49.1 and potential next generation game version is now at our doorsteps. If you can steel your heart, be warned that there will be spoilers ahead so read on at your own risk.
Niantic may have already finished the gender identifiers for "Pokemon GO" monsters. There is a possibility that Pokemons aren't going to be identified whether male or female through user interface. However, the next "Pokemon GO" update can carry sound files for each specie where gamers can discern masculine or feminine voice.
Then comes "shiny" variants of "Pokemon GO" creatures. These monsters are the same to those existing ones although they sport different colors. Consider them as collector's edition version of each Pokemon due to the fact that they are extremely rare, based on the original anime setup. "Pokemon GO" update points to "shinies" as gameplay changer and there could be a separate game mechanic for them, Tech Insider said.
Now here is a heavier spoiler; "Pokemon GO" incoming update will enable creatures to sport costumes - Christmas costumes! Meaning, Niantic may have been cooking a special holiday event all the while. It is unclear whether these costumes can grant "Pokemon GO" monsters added edge or if they are permanent though.
"Pokemon GO" clearly expects resurgence with these lengthy list of added features. Some of them we simply cannot accommodate here so it's now up to players to see them, come next week. At any rate, expect December 12th as possible release date for this next-Gen update.
