The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds Live Action TV Advert Shows How to Become a Legend [VIDEO]

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds' Official TV Advert is Minimal But Exciting

With Nintendo’s upcoming The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds just a few days away, the craze is expected to hit the roof. With all the festivities surrounding the title, Nintendo has released a brand new TV advert for the game, teasing what the game has to offer.

The advert doesn’t necessarily relegate itself to new age gaming ads found all over the web that show a bunch of clips from the game with as much blood and destruction possible.

On the contrary, the new ad for The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds sticks to old-school ways of promoting video game titles that were predominant some 10-15 years ago.

Rather than following up on the new ways of promoting titles where you throw in big guns, destruction, and a cheesy rap number in the background that talks about how intense the game will be, the ad for the new Zelda game just simply rolls out as if we are still in the 80’s or the mid 90’s where the narrator straightforwardly informs you that you are the hero of the saga with a real epic track playing in the background.

For example, the ad states that to become a legend “you must be willing to risk everything. There is no challenge you can’t overcome, no danger you can’t escape and no dungeon you can’t solve.” That’s it. Straightforward, to the point, and obviously, epic.

Despite the ad's effectiveness, it will be a long time before we see other titles in the future adopting the same routine as this one to promote their titles on the TV.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds will be the first title since the Oracle series and will be set in the ‘Sealing War’ timeline since the split that occurred following the release of Ocarina of Time.

Although the game is set in the world of A Link to the Past, it will not feature locations such as the Dark World, which has bow been replaced by an alternate version of Hyrule called Lorule, and is ruled by Zelda's analogue, Hilda.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds arrives on Nov. 22 exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS. Check out the trailer below
