Russell Westbrook Better Without Kevin Durant? OKC Star Plays In Par With Michael Jordan

Russell Westbrook seems to be better without Kevin Durant. As the Oklahoma City Thunder star player needs to compensate for the loss of his previous tag team partner, it seems that his play gets to be on an even better level that he was compared to be in par with the legendary Michael Jordan.

As we all know, Russell Westbrook was caught by surprise when his team mate Kevin Durant decided to play for the Golden State Warriors this season. Certain news and issues surrounded the NBA world, and for most, it seems to be an awful decision as OKC may have lost the single ray of hope they have for the Finals Championship.

However, that is not the case with Russell Westbrook. Though he may have shown dismay over the sudden change on his team, he went on to explode on his plays as he took six straight games with a triple-double streak - an astounding feat and the closest one to Michael Jordan's 1989 seven straights.

Aside from that, losing a co-star player meant that he will be shining ever more for his team. Yet he admits that he cannot reach such kind of play if not with the help of his current line of team mates in the Oklahoma City Thunder.

After their win against Atlanta Hawks at Philips Arena, Westbrook stated that, "I get satisfaction with winning. That's the most important part to me. My guys do an amazing job of working on their games and making my job easy, and my job is to be able to find those guys."

Westbrook has been his best ever for the past six games. He averaged 29.2 points, 14.2 rebounds, and 13.5 assists. With such statistics, he was able to dominate the past games.

Without Durant on his side, Westbrook may be into eyeing the Finals Championship taking everything on his shoulders. He may be wanting to prove that despite losing his partner, he may still be in to dominating the Finals together with his beloved OKC team.
