WWE Rumors: Kurt Angle Return Could Happen Soon, Wrestling Legend to Lead Power Stable on Smackdown

It might be just a matter of time before former WWE and World Heavyweight champion Kurt Angle makes his formal WWE return, after a simple Birthday greetings from WWE has generated enormous buzz surrounding a potential comeback from the wrestling legend.

Angle, who left WWE to join TNA in 2006, has been rumored the past few months as another former Attitude Era wrestler who is reportedly slated to make his WWE comeback sooner or later.

And why not? After all, WWE has already brought back the enigmatic Goldberg in the fold in an attempt to boost up floundering TV ratings and PPV buys. Angle, considered by many pundits as one of the best technical wrestlers in history, will no doubt make a big impact whichever brand, Smackdown or RAW, he will be assigned.

 Happy Birthday to #TheOlympicHero, #KurtAngle!

Angle has been very open to one day make his WWE return. In an interview on the Ric Flair podcast, Angle confirmed that he had informal talk with Triple H regarding a potential WWE comeback, although nothing has been finalized yet.

Via Cageside Seats:

"If I go back to WWE it would most likely be the year or year after. I did talk with Triple H a few months ago, very loose conversation. They have interest, I have interest. They don't know what to do with me yet, you know, it was more of a loose conversation. Put it this way, I wouldn't be surprised if I go back next year and I wouldn't be surprised if I don't go back at all.

But it was kind of cool to talk to Triple H and bury the hatchet with the past. We are both on good terms with each other. I reach out to Vince every once in awhile.

It's just good to be able to let the past go behind you and you know, if something does happen, it just feels good to know that I will end my career there. If I don't, then that's fine too. The Hall of Fame is important to me, but it wouldn't kill me if I wasn't in. You just never know."

Should he hammer a deal with WWE, Angle is rumored to lead a six-man power stable on Smackdown that also features Dolph Ziggler, Shelton Benjamin and the American Alpha.
