New York Knicks vs. Sacramento Kings: Results, Highlights, Player of the Game

Carmelo Anthony recorded 33 points and 7 rebounds and Kristap Porzingis added 17 points and 10 boards, as the New York Knicks continue to stay hot with a 103-100 win against the Sacramento Kings. The Knicks now notched their fifth win in six games to improve their record to 13-10.

Key Point of the Match:

Anthony once again proved that he's still the leader of this New York team, knocking down two crucial free-throws to get the Knicks ahead by three points with 14.8 seconds left in the match. The Kings had opportunity to send the game into overtime, but both Rudy Gay and DeMarcus Cousins missed potential game-tying treys.

Players of the Match:

Anthony didn't shot well from the field (9-for-22), but it's enough to power the Knicks offense towards the end of the ballgame. Despite Derrick Rose's absence, Brandon Jennings filled in nicely with 13 points and 7 assists. Cousins had another monster game with 28 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists while Gay chipped in 13 points in 35 minutes.

Aftermath:

The Knicks (13-10) are now just tied with the Boston Celtics (13-10) and now three games behind Toronto Raptors (16-7) in the Atlantic Division standings. They will next face the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday. The Kings dropped to 8-14 after suffering their fourth loss in five games. They'll next play the Utah Jazz this Sunday.

Halftime Update:

Carmelo Anthony was off to a fast start as he scored a game-high 23 points to give the New York Knicks a 54-53 lead over the Sacramento Kings on Friday at Golden-1 Center in Sacramento, California.
