Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag DLC, Blackbeard's Wrath, Confirmed [VIDEO]

PS3 Trophies Confirm That Assassin's Creed 4 Has DLC Incoming

For those of you who thought you're swashbuckling days were over as pirate privateer Edward Kenway, turns out you're about half-right. PS3 Trophies has updated its list to include 10 additional trophies for the previously announced Freedom's Cry DLC (available for free with the game's Season Pass), as well as a new DLC, apparently called Blackbeard's Wrath.

Going by the list of trophies, it seems the DLC has players swap roles with Kenway for the infamous pirate, as well as the Abstergo avatar of Chinese pirate Jing Lang, the Orchid, and the Jaguar. Going from the list of trophies, it seems that the DLC is your basic multiplayer pack, so for those of you hoping that the infamous pirate lived on, sorry to disappoint.

The pack has yet to be formally announced, but you can see the list of trophies below:

Blackbeard's Wrath
Elevator to the Gallows - Kill a player using a lift that has been trapped with Booby Trap
Preemptive Strike - Playing as The Orchid, block 10 abilities from opponents with Sabotage
Queen Anne's Revenge - Playing as Blackbeard, perform an acrobatic kill and a gun kill in less than 10 seconds
Sacred Land - Playing as The Jaguar, be the highest scoring player of a Domination game session

Trophies for the Freedom's Cry DLC also surfaced. This particular DLC tells the story of Edward Kenway's first mate, Adewale, and how he came to be an Assassin in a nine-mission story. Ubisoft has provided official details on the DLC:  Born a slave, Adewale found freedom as a pirate aboard the Jackdaw as Captain Edward Kenway's second-in-command. Fifteen years later, Adewale has become a trained assassin and finds himself shipwrecked in Saint-Domingue with no weapon nor crew, starting a new adventure of his own.

You can check out the DLC's list of trophies below, followed by a trailer.

Freedom Cry
Firepower - Kill 5 guards at once with a blunderbuss

Black Flag is the first prequel in the Creed franchise, and sees players controlling ACIII protagonist Connor's grandfather, Edward Kenway, a former Royal Navy man for the British crown turned pirating privateer in the blue waters of the Caribbean. The game takes place somewhere around 1713, long before the last time we saw any vestige of the assassins, the American Revolution. The colonial frontier of the new world has traded in for the warm waterfronts of Nassau, Havana, and Kingston, with historical figures such as the infamous pirate Blackbeard, Calico Jack, Charles Vane, and others are set to appear.

Like in the Vita exclusive Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation, Desmond Miles doesn't have a role in Black Flags, having been replaced with an Abstergo researcher.

For both the PlayStation 3 and 4, Ubisoft has promised additional, exclusive content in the form of extra missions with the heroine of Liberation (which is getting its own PS3 port), Aveline de Grandpre. The first female assassin will be featured in as many as three bonus missions. It's also been revealed that players will seen Aveline again soon enough. Originally a handheld only title on the PS Vita, Liberation is going HD, and will be ported to the PlayStation 3 and is set to hit the PlayStation Store as a digital download January 14, for $19.99.

Black Flag is currently available on the PlayStation 3 and 4, and Xbox 360. It will release tomorrow for both PC and Microsoft's next-gen Xbox One.
