The changes are huge. As more and more devices and things in our lives connect, from the refrigerator to the lamp to the clothes we're wearing, this new release should make Bluetooth more reliable as a low-power, universal communication and standard data. This Bluetooth 5.0, for the executive director of Bluetooth SIG, means "a complete coverage of homes and buildings" to meet IoT.

The intent of the consortium (founded in 1998 by Ericsson, Intel, Nokia, Toshiba and IBM; Microsoft joined in 1999, Lenovo in 2005 and Apple in 2015 alone) is to promote greater integration of wearable devices and other smart devices with Internet, and for that the focus on the evolution of Bluetooth focused mainly on reach: today version 4.2 works in an area of up to 10 meters, while the Bluetooth 5 reaches up to 40 meters. At the same time, data transfer in Bluetooth 5.0 put increases to 50Mbit / s, compared to the standard 4.0Mbps / 25Mbit / s, allowing improved multimedia experiences and better quality audio now that many brands are giving up the 3.5mm jack. Bluetooth 5.0 also includes enhancements that help reduce the likelihood of interference with other wireless technologies, a crucial feature of the future, which increasingly provides for devices connected per square meter. As for the arrival of the Bluetooth 5.0 to the market, it is expected that the first devices will be announced within the next 2 to 6 months, which will mean an excellent opportunity already at the CES of Las Vegas or the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The expected smartphone that has this technology will be in Samsung, iPhone, or Motorola lines. They are currently on their way to launch their high-end smartphone. There are Samsung Galaxy S8, iPhone 7, and Motorola 'Cedric' which are waiting this technology applied. Hopefully, these generations will have it including the new OS later. Stay tuned for more Bluetooth 5.0 news and updates!
