Star Wars Episode VIII Spoilers: Supreme Leader Snoke To Be Played By A Huge Puppet

The last few weeks we've seen a lot of Star Wars: Episode VIII spoilers appearing on different sites on the internet.  Mostly, the spoilers focus on Luke Skywalker and Rey.  This latest spoiler focuses on the character of Supreme Leader Snoke.

The first time we got a glimpse of Supreme Leader Snoke was in a CGI hologram in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.  Supreme Leader Snoke was like a giant, older and uglier version of Lord Voldermort of the Harry Potter series.

In Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Supreme Leader Snoke seems like a character that is able to interact with the other actors.  However, according to recent reports, Supreme Leader Snoke may not be a computer generated actor in Star Wars: Episode VIII.  Instead, Supreme Leader Snoke will be played by a giant puppet, most likely to be seven to eight feet in height.  One person will sit inside the huge suit while a different set of people will operate the giant puppet, controlling the movements of Supreme Leader Snoke.

Reports say that scenes that involves Supreme Leader Snoke and other minor characters, the CGI hologram would be used like the one in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens film.  On the other hand, scenes that would involve face to face interaction with major characters like Kylo Ren and General Hux, the giant puppet would be used.

As for the giant puppet's facial expressions, reports say that CGI effects will help enhance the giant puppet's facial expressions.  Actor Andy Serkis however is not yet clear on how he would play the character of Supreme Leader Snoke if the film makers are planning to use a giant puppet for the Star Wars: Episode VIII film.  Andy Serkis played Supreme Leader Snoke via motion capture performance in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie.

Reports suggest that Andy Serkis could be involved in scenes where Supreme Leader Snoke appears in a hologram, where CGI effects can be used.

The latest Star Wars installment will also give fans a hint on who are the real parents of Rey according to reports.

Star Wars: Episode VIII is still in production and will be released on December, 2017.
