“NES Classic Edition” Latest News & Updates: Nintendo Console Sold Out In Australia Barely 4 Hours Of Online Sale

Barely four hours after it went live for online sale, Target Australia announced that Nintendo NES Classic Edition is now sold out. Although the website managed to stay alive for three and half hours, the system was plagued with problems at the payment queuing section, and buyers are not happy about it.

Press Start Australia reported that a lot of customers, craving for the highly sought Nintendo NES Classic Edition, checked out from the website empty handed while pouring their frustration at Target Australia's Tweeter account. Some of the buyers claimed that they were clogged at the online payment sections for as long as four hours.

Although limited to buyers within Australia only, Target has failed to anticipate the flock of customers, clogging its queuing system as the buying frenzy starts. Fans of the Nintendo NES Classic Edition were furious when, after waiting for the 8am AEDT start of the online sale, Target Australia ended the frenzy with a message, "Wow! Everybody wanted this. Unfortunately, we are now sold out of this item."

But customers dying to get a copy of Nintendo NES Classic Edition can still get a hand of the classic game packed console on the next trance of sale by other retailers. Best Buy earlier said that Nintendo NES Classic Edition will hit their shelves starting December 20. But it will be available for store buyers only as it will not sell the console online.

On the other hand, online retail giant Amazon announced that it will be selling the highly sought item too. However it did not give specific date but only teased fans that Nintendo NES Classic Edition will be available in the coming weeks.

In an interview with Fox Business as quoted by Forbes, Reggie Fils-Aimé of Nintendo of America assured that NES Classic Edition will be readily available for Christmas. He said stores like Toys R Us, GameStop, and Walmart are stocking up supplies for the season.Nintendo NES Classic Edition became so rare that bidding at eBay start from $200 to as much as $25,000.
