Japanese video game artist and Square Enix designer and director, Tetsuya Nomura has previously said that Drive Forms is something that they were considering for "Kingdom Hearts 3" but they haven't actually made a full decision on. With so many things and abilities to use and utilize in "KH 3," the chances of Drive Forms returning are pretty slim. Now, the franchise has finally confirmed its comeback.

'Kingdom Hearts 3' Release Date, News & Update: Sora's 'KH 3' Drive Forms Is A Complete Overhaul From Previous Installments?

The official "Kingdom Hearts" Twitter account tweeted, "As we don't have any news for #KHIII, Nomura-san would like to offer everyone a sneak peek at Guard Form - a new Drive Form!" That post was enough to bring the "Kingdom Hearts 3" hype to its highest. Of course we can see a picture attached to the tweet with Sora in his supposed Guard Form.

Looking at the Guard Form for "Kingdom Hearts 3," it is a bit different to what fans usually used to when it comes to Drive Forms. The Drive Forms in can "Kingdom Hearts 2" generally allow gamers to wield two keyblades. In this case, Sora is actually wielding a shield, which is completely different to anything fans have ever seen before.

'Kingdom Hearts 3' Release Date, News & Update: 'KH 3' Screenshot Reveals Sora's Guard Form

The new "Kingdom Hearts 3" screenshots gives gamers a little bit of variety. There's a big possibility that the Drive Forms that are going to be in "KH 3" will be very different compared to the last Drive Forms or the Drive Forms after that one.

Also, the Kingdom Hearts Twitter account sent out another tweet saying that the Guard Form shield was transformed from Sora's Keyblade Herc's shield. Another screenshot was then attached, showing Sora in Mt. Olympus.

Meanwhile, "Kingdom Hearts 3" is climbing up the charts as reported by Mobile & Apps. Although the game has not yet reached the Top 5, "KH 3" has improved its ranking from the eight spot to now seventh. This goes to show that even though Square Enix did not announce any new details about the game, its popularity is still very obvious.

The "Kingdom Hearts 3" trailer revealed that "KH 3" is "currently in development." "Kingdom Hearts" HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, on the other hand, will be available in PS4 on Jan. 24, 2017.
