AirPods Release Date, News & Update: Other Marketers Lapping Up Opportunity After Delay; Apple Struggling With Audio Syncs! More Details

Apple AirPods are not hitting the market anytime soon due to manufacturing issues. This has come as a shock as such kind of problems is rare with Apple. The Apple AirPods were supposed to hit the shelves in December but won't be available this month due to Bluetooth connectivity problems.

The wireless Apple AirPods use Bluetooth technology in order to sync with devices such as iPhones and iPads. A report by the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) broke the news regarding the delay. Apple has reportedly said it is not ready with the device and will require more time to bring the device in the market.

Most wireless earphones receive only one signal from a paired device via Bluetooth, which is then transmitted to both ear buds. However, with the Apple AirPods, each air piece receives signal from the paired device. Apple is facing problems as it's not being able to ensure both the audio syncs at the same time. This, in turn, is leading to a distortion.

Apple is also trying to figure out what happens when someone loses one of the AirPods, writes The Indian Express. The wireless buds have a new ultra-low power W1 chip capable of delivering high-quality sound and amazing battery life. It's a rare misstep on Apple's part as it has promoted the breakthrough for a long time.

Other marketers are now aware of the technology and Apple is yet to put the product on shelves. Soon others will be out with such earphones and Apple could be left behind. "We don't believe in shipping a product before it's ready. We need a little more time before AirPods are ready for our customers," an Apple spokeswoman told WSJ.

The Apple AirPods delay may also significantly affect future iPhone sales due to the missing 3.5mm headphone jack. The delay has infuriated customers as they can't charge their iPhone 7 while listening to music or conducting a call. Moreover, the holiday season was the perfect time to release the product but Apple has missed this amazing window.
