The Netflix VR app was only available on Oculus Store for Samsung Gear VR users but it is now available for download on Google Play Store. Along with this, are the two new Daydream-supported VR apps courtesy of HBO.
These are the new HBO GO VR and HBO NOW VR apps allowing subscribers a virtual cinema to watch "Westworld" and other nudity-loaded and violence shows. According to Tech Radar, these apps aim exactly at Daydream View owners, which will only support that specific headset.
Additionally, the Netflix VR app is split up with the regular Netflix app which means that users must download the VR-specific app if they want to watch all of their favorite shows on Netflix on a huge virtual screen within the luxury and the comfort of virtual environment. The Netflix VR app has been available to Gear VR users.
At this time, HBO's Daydream app doesn't provide access to any VR-optimized content and it will only play any movies or shows on HBO virtually. According to Variety, the app came out as an important content for Google's Daydream headset update that also included a NextVR app for virtual reality live streaming and several games, which includes "Gunjack 2: End of Shift." and "LEGO BrickHeadz Builder VR."
Moreover, Google also said that before the end of the year, it will be adding a Netflix app to the unit. Daydream compatibility for Lenovo's Moto Z Force and Moto Z has been announced by Google as well. These are the first phones that are not created by Google to work with the production of the Daydream View VR headset.
Earlier this year, Google has also revealed that it will work with several handset manufacturers including Xiaomi and Samsung to create Daydream-ready phones. Daydream users will also get an access to 50 games 360-degree video experiences and media streaming applications, all can be taken advantage on virtual reality.
