Niantic has announced the details of their Christmas event for Dec.12, along with around 100 new Gen 2 Pokémon for "Pokémon Go". Game enthusiasts are expecting a significant change in the game apart from the Gen 2 Pokémon.

Last week Niantic has released a statement which read, "The Pokémon Company International and Niantic, Inc. will reveal details on December 12 about the first addition of more Pokémon to "Pokémon Go", one of the most popular mobile games of the year." Although till now not many details are revealed, there are many speculations surrounding the "Pokémon Go" Christmas event.

The players can get at least 100 new Pokémon and 86 new moves from the Gen 2 update, reported Ranked Boost. There will be a new Pokémon Game Mechanic named as Baby Pokémon that can be hatched from egg VIA Pokémon Breeding. Moreover, Legacy Pokemon is expected to have new evolutions. Niantic might also reduce the number of steps needed to hatch eggs and gain buddy bonus.

Nonetheless, The trainers must prepare themselves for Gen 2 and try to fill up the last few slots of their Pokedex before what they missed till now become tougher. Forbes advises that the players must start saving candy for Gen2 evolutions. In Gold and Silver Gen2 Pokémon there will be several completely new creatures into the mix. Moreover, they have also added evolutions for Gen 1 Pokémon that never existed before.

In addition, Pokémon will have genders. Both male and female Pokémon will be there. Players will also be able to add "Shiny" Pokémon which are re-colored versions of Pokémon. A 3D version of them is also expected.

Now players will also have the freedom to choose hat, shoes, eyes, shirt, pants and hair of the Pokémon as avatar customization will be expanded. Nonetheless, whether the players find the "Pokémon Go" interesting after the inclusion of so many features is still a question.
