IPhone Software Latest News & Update: iOS 10.2 Update Has Been Released; Everything New About Must Be Known

Apple has reveals the latest version of its "iPhone software - iOS 10.2." The latest upgrade to iOS brings a number of improvements and upgrades to the company's mobile offering, which is available to download for free now.

Among the headline new additions are a majorly expanded list of new emoji, the new Apple TV app, new wallpapers, and extra effects for the Messages service. The "Updated iOS 10.2" can be downloaded now for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices, although it's iPhone 7 and 7 Plus users that will see the biggest improvements.

This includes three new wallpapers exclusive to Apple's latest releases, and a fix for an iPhone 7 Plus camera issue that left the device's lens stuck on zoom. The iOS 10.2 also includes a useful "Press and Hold to Speak" option, which can be accessed from the home button's Accessibility settings.

The "iOS 10.2 update" is probably the most notable for the new emoji's, with over a hundred new additions. This includes more diverse characters, new food choices, additional animals, facial reactions, sports, and extra jobs and professions. Most of the emoji has been redesigned to show even more detail than before - a move that did not go down well with some Apple users. The new additions have been made possible by iOS 10.2's support for Unicode 9.0, the specification that governs new emoji design.

The "iOS 10.2 update" is also equipped with the new Apple's TV app. First shown off at the company's October MacBook launch event is the new "Apple TV" app looks to bring together your entire live and on-demand TV viewing one place.

Only iPhone 5 or newer to install the software, meaning that Apple's newest iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will be able to enjoy the benefits. The "iOS 10.2 update" is available to download now, just by visiting the Settings menu.
