Xbox One vs PS4: Sony Still on Shaky Grounds Despite November Win?

There was a time not far from today when Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4) was the king of gaming consoles. It has been the most popular console in the whole world, with Xbox One lagging behind always. However, the console from Microsoft is on a roll with September marking the third month Xbox One beat PS4 in terms of sales. Has the time come for Microsoft to topple Sony in the gaming world?

The popularity of PS4 reached a high when Sony crossed the 40 million mark in units sold. Microsoft had to stop reporting Xbox One sales figures and focused on "hours played" instead. Now, Xbox One is catching up, slow and steady. Ever since July, Xbox One has outperformed PS4 in month-to-month sales. Both have been in the market since 2013. During most of this period, PS4 has remained in the lead and still is.

The reasons behind Xbox One beating PS4 in monthly sales could be many. Sony has already rolled out many PS4 consoles and has never faltered in meeting demand. Probably gamers are now trying out the Xbox One, now that they know everything about their beloved PS4. This could be a cooling period for the console and this has provided Microsoft with an opportunity to be at the forefront.

Another important reason is the launch of the Xbox One S console, which is an upgraded Xbox One but at the same price. It was also the highest-selling console of September beating Sony's PS4 slimmer version that was also released in the same month. Even though it's a long road and a bit too early to predict, it seems Xbox One has it all to give PS4 a run for its money. However, PS4 has again regained its top position in November, reports Express. Stay tuned on GameNGuide for more updates on the Xbox One and PS4 gaming consoles.
