'Overwatch' Latest News & Update: 5 Things Blizzard Would Want To Develop For The Online Competitive Shooter Game

Blizzard's "Overwatch" has taken the online community by storm when the competitive shooting game was released earlier this year and won Game of the Year award in the Game Awards 2016. "Overwatch" might be popular among its peers of online shooter games, but fans of the game title has some concerns on how it can improve in the months to come.

What Gamers Want For The Blizzard Competitive Shooter Game

In a character-based game, the first thing that gamers would like to see is more characters and Blizzard has been slow in the process of developing new heroes for "Overwatch." Sure, two new characters were added to the "Overwatch" roster, but having additional two heroes since its May release is pretty slow for the game developers.

Next, Blizzard may want to consider in adding more game modes for "Overwatch" rather than making another map that players might have the chance to spot each other. A total of four game modes in "Overwatch" namely: Assault, Escort, Hybrid, and Control is still a small feature for the game and if Blizzard does not act quickly, maybe players will grow sick of the game modes presented in the game.

Another feature Blizzard can bring to "Overwatch" is the addition of weapons skins for the different heroes of the game. New character skins is expected from Blizzard, but different weapon skins can be another story for the game developers.

Other than that, Blizzard can also venture into various ultimate abilities for "Overwatch" heroes, just like the game developers are doing to Symmetra right now. It has been reported that Symmetra will have an overhaul due to the character's ultimate being useless in battle.

When Symmetra finally comes out with the new ultimate at hand, "Overwatch" players might get to choose the character's ultimate from either the existing teleporter or the new shield generator. Ultimates are an important variable in "Overwatch" that can drastically change the outcome in a battle and a list of ultimates heroes can possess will open to new strategies players can execute in "Overwatch."

And lastly, Blizzard may want to change the algorithm of the Play of the Game feature from a single hero into a multi-person POTG point of view. Play of the Game is an important feature in "Overwatch" that can reward players for that awesome moments in "Overwatch", but Blizzard needs to develop a new system that can reward multiple heroes and not just one.
