Steam Client Update is Large; Features Capabilities with DualShock 4 Controller, Find Out the Details Here!

Great news for Steam users, as Valve has released a fresh new client update that's larger than the usual updates they receive. Gamers should expect capabilities with DualShock 4 controller, as well as new additions to the Big Picture mode, In-Home Streaming, and StreamVR, among others.

The news comes via VG24/7, which reports that the new Steam client update is large and features capabilities with DualShock 4. Here's what you need to know. The new Steam client update has updated web control to CEF v55.0.2883, which requires gamers to have at least Windows 7 or macOS 10.9. There's an improved download and patching speeds whenever gamers are installed to a traditional non-SSD hard drive.

The new Steam client update has also improved error messages, added web links to Steam Support pages in the Change Password wizard, and fixed a bug that causes crash upon launch when the user has erroneous music album images. The bug that caused third party mods to show up as the incorrect game name has also been addressed.

Meanwhile, in terms of SteamVR, the new Steam client update has fixed the way navigation is done when using the Steam dashboard with the Oculus Touch controller. In terms of Big Picture mode, gamers should expect no more crashes when Big Picture Mode is launched with an active voice chat. They've also fixed the clipped game art on the suggested game row of the main page, and displays the name of the game whenever the game art doesn't load quick enough.

As for In-Home Streaming, the new Steam client update features higher bandwidth options for 4K streaming, as well as support for NvFBC with the newest NVIDIA driver. According to Bit-Tech, there's also no more audio stuttering and dropout when gamers use a Mac to stream games. For those who still experience Steam crashes when streaming a game, it should also automatically restart.
