NBA Trade Rumors: Wizards hosting John Wall-DeMarcus Cousins reunion?

It may not be too late for the Washington Wizards to turn things around, with the team in position for a blockbuster deal that would reunite John Wall to former college teammate DeMarcus Cousins.

Trade talks about the Wizards possibly moving Wall have emerged around the league, with the Wizards struggling to win games. While the Wizards have yet to confirm any intentions of trading Wall, it is a possibility the franchise could consider, according to Bill Simmons.

Trading Wall would give the Wizards enough prospects and picks to kick start a rebuild. But it could be the other way around, according to Dave Leonardis of FanRag Sports, with Washington potentially hosting a reunion of Wall and Cousins.

"The potential acquisition of Cousins won't turn the Wizards into championship contenders overnight," Leonardis wrote. "However, bringing in the league's best center would raise the club's talent level and make them more attractive to upcoming free agents."

Cousins and Wall played together during their stint in Kentucky and have developed legit chemistry on-and-off the court. The Kings have failed miserably to surround Cousins with better supporting cast, but playing alongside Wall, one of the best point guards in the league, would be beneficial for both the Wizards and Cousins himself.

"We talk about it all the time," Wall said, reports the Washington Post. "We're trying to figure it out and hopefully things work out in the best manner and figure something out."

However, trading for Cousins would surely be costly for the Wizards. Any potential deal for Cousins would surely include Bradley Beal and Otto Porter, as well as future draft picks to help in the Kings' rebuild.

The Wizards are in position to orchestrate a major trade, but only if they are willing to move Beal's multi-year contract and one key player or two down the rotation. Would the Wizards gamble on breaking their core for a talent like Cousins? Probably, especially if Wall's frustration continues to mount.
