‘Airpods’ Latest News & Updates: Apple Stores Now Accepting Pre-Orders Online, Sets Pre-Christmas Delivery Dates!
Apple proved their critics wrong when they anticipated that Airpods could not make it in the holiday season. This after the Cupertino tech giant announced that the highly anticipated device is now ready for delivery just in time for the holiday season.
Online Apple Stores are now taking pre-orders for Airpods with selected areas available for free shipping. Delivery dates vary depending on the buyers' location. In the UK, the earliest estimated delivery date is on Monday, December 19, while other locations could take as long as four weeks. Airpods will also be available in brick-and-mortar Apple retail stores, Apple authorized resellers and select carriers starting next week.
The release of Airpods happened a week after Apple CEO Tim Cook hinted that the wireless device will come "over the next few weeks." Apple claimed that the architecture behind Airpods delivers extremely efficient wireless connection and improved sound quality, with the W1 chip managing battery life so well that users can listen to music for five hours on a single charge.
The Airpods were originally set for release last October but Apple failed to launch it after its W1 chips encountered connectivity problems. Last week, The Wall Street Journal quoted a person familiar with the development of Airpods saying that the Cupertino company faced severe architectural blunder on Airpods' design.
It said that the glitch started when the two W1 chips, designed to provide seamless wireless Bluetooth connection, failed to synchronized. The news led many to believe that it would be a bleak Christmas for Apple fans who waited for Airpods for three long months. Apple, however, has not issued any comment on the reported technical blunder.
But whether or not the reports are true, holiday shoppers can now include Airpods on their shopping list for Christmas. For loyal Apple fans, there could be no better news than knowing that Airpods are finally here. Watch the technology behind Airpods here:
