After several delays, the wireless headphones known as Apple's Airpods are now finally available. iPhone 7 users can now get the anticipated accessory just in time for the holidays.
Apple revealed in September that Airpods and iPhone 7 will be shipped in late October according to a report in Yahoo. However, the new wireless earbuds was not released in October. There is no explanation from Apple why the earbuds did not come on sale that month as promised. Fortunately, it is now out in the market and can also be part of the Christmas shopping season.
Apple said that the Airpods or wireless earbuds will be shipped in Apple Stores first while retailers can acquire it next week. Those who have come to order the product from Apple will receive it before the Christmas day. It is said that it may be four days earlier than Dec. 25, 2016. But, after it went on sale, the estimated time of delivery is announced to be on Dec. 29, 2016, which is clearly after Christmas.
In a press release, Apple confirmed that there are only limited quantities of Airpods during its initial release. Thos who want to purchase the Airpods need to check the item online for its availability and delivery.
Apple Airpods will cost $159 according to Business Insider. It is the first Airpod released by Apple and comes with a W1 Chip, sensors and accelerometer that can detect if an Airpod is in the user's ear. These wireless earphones can last up to five hours after it is charged.
Despite its advanced features, the Airpods come with the standard microphone that can be used as a mic for voice calls and chat. The Airpods can directly connect to other devices through Bluetooth. It can connect if there is an adapter via the iPhone 7's Lightning port.
