NBA News: Kevin Durant Gives Donation To An Oklahoma City School: Is This His Way Of Redemption?

NBA News: Kevin Durant is said to have donated an amount of $57,000 to an Oklahoma City school. This happened even after he moved to the Golden State Warriors this season. Is this actually his way of redeeming himself, as he was lately tagged as a "traitor" to the Oklahoma City by some?

Actually, this is in no way a first time for Kevin Durant. He already did it for the fourth consecutive year, as he is still connected to his Oklahoma City roots. Positive Tomorrows, the recipient of the $57,000 donation, is an elementary school for homeless children.

Last Tuesday, Positive Tomorrows announced that they did receive this charity donation from the NBA star. It even has an anonymous $50,000 challenge grant that will enable the school to purchase a new land for a facility for the children.

It seems that Kevin Durant never forgot where he came from. Despite the criticisms he received because of playing for the Golden State Warriors, he still is a hero for these children. Back in December 2015, it was also stated that the NBA star donated $35,000 to help Positive Tomorrows buy food stocks and build a new kitchen.

For some, this action of Kevin Durant is just mere show as this may only be the way for redeeming himself from the critical eyes of Oklahoma City. However, he is already doing this for years, and not intending to stop doing so. After all, his love for the children and his city is different from his passion for basketball.

Whatever the reasons he may have for playing for the Golden State, all we know is that he never forgot where he came from, and that is a great thing. For the eyes of those children whom he helped, he will always be the best basketball hero they will ever have.
