With now five titles in the game series and right on the heels of Custom Night DLC release for "Five Night's at Freddy's: Sister Location," fans are now turning their attention to the upcoming horror movie based on the same video game title. Followers of the game series are now asking about its premiere date, considering that it is already some months back since it was given a go.
It was reported that development of the said movie is already under way and great efforts are being made to come up with a solid script. Scott Cawthon, the creator of the "Five Nights at Freddy's" game series, assured fans that all is being done to ensure the movie release happens really soon.
However, if production is being put on hold because the script is not ready, even with Cawthon's assurance, the movie may not realistically have a release date in the next year or so. Some months back, another report placed the premiere of the movie version of "Five Nights at Freddy's" to be some years yet.
Another report mid-year pegged the release date to be some time in June of 2018. There has been no confirmation so far, but at the rate things are going---or rather, not going---it could very well be an accurate estimate. This same report revealed the delay as again owing to a "very long script development phase," according to the director for "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie, Gil Kenan.
Faithful FNAF followers though are putting their faith in Scott Cawthon that "Five Nights at Freddy's" the movie will be on its way, sooner or later. The game developer's reputation for fulfilling promises is quite reliable. He has always delivered on those in the past, despite delays.
A movie may be entirely different from a video game release, but it is hard to imagine Cawthon saying one thing and doing something else entirely. Looking at it in a more positive light, some other fans are confident that, with the time and care invested in the development stage of the film and script, the resulting movie may be worth the wait.
