In the midseason of "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2, the Legends eventually get hold of the Spear of Destiny for their safekeeping. Unfortunately, they lose Rip Hunter, after the Legion of Doom kidnaps him.
Going into the second half of "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2, the Legends successfully retrieve the Spear of Destiny from the Legion of Doom. Well, a part of the spear that is.
A scene in one of the upcoming midseason episodes will show Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) holding a long metal rod. This one-foot long piece of metal has a pointy tip on one end. Sara appears down, even though they have a part of the Spear of Destiny.
Apparently, in this scene from "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2, Sara is also brooding about Rip Hunter. She is upset that the Legion of Doom captured him. The villains took hold of the former Waverider captain, during their battle with the Legends over the Spear of Destiny.
Jefferson Jackson (Franz Drameh) arrives in this same scene in "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2. He consoles Sara and tells her not to worry about Rip. He expressed his confidence that they will get Rip back, since he believes that Sara will not stop until the team rescues him. Jefferson also asked Sara to cheer up, because now they have a piece of the Spear of Destiny and part of the amulet, which Reverse-Flash needs.
Apparently, this scene in one of the midseason episodes of "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2 takes off after the midseason finale. The finale saw the Legion of Doom planning to locate the Spear of Destiny using the amulet. The finale also revealed Rip Hunter's whereabouts. Rip is trying to make a movie out of his excursions as Time Master.
Likewise, this scene confirms that the team eventually becomes complete again. Along the way, they manage to track down Rip and the Legion of Doom.
