After previously disappointing fans with its almost two-month delay, the Apple AirPods will finally be out before Christmas. Apple recently announced that the highly anticipated earphones will begin shipping in limited quantities on Dec. 21, 2016.
Apple AirPods Coming Before Christmas
Apple announced on December 12 that the Apple AirPods already available to order online. The company will start delivering to customers and arriving at Apple Stores, Apple Authorized Resellers and select carriers the following week.
The Apple AirPods showcase an effortless and high quality wireless listening experience through its advanced audio technology and long battery life. Users can match the earphones with the new iPhone 7 for a truly wireless future, to play music, make calls, watch shows and movies and play games.
New Features
The Apple AirPods are quite easy to set up and use. People can simply open the charging case close to their iPhone. A simple tap will immediately set up the Apple AirPods with all the devices that are signed into the user's iCloud account, including the Mac, iPad and Apple Watch.
The earphones include advanced sensors that will know when these are in the user's ears and will automatically play and pause as needed. Users can double tap to activate Siri, letting them access the virtual assistant to choose and manage music, call and ask for directions.
Phone Arena reported that the Apple AirPods feature Bluetooth wireless pairing and connection. A pop-up window will appear on the device to present the battery status of the earpieces.
The Apple AirPods is unique from other products because of its Apple W1 chip, which provides stable and fast Bluetooth connection and efficient playback. The chip also lets users easily switch between compatible devices.
The earphones have infrared sensors and voice detection that can sense vibrations and reduce external noise. The Apple AirPods also boast of up to five hours of listening time on a single charge. The charging case allows it to run for 24 more hours on the go. The long battery life only requires the earphones to be charged weekly, instead of daily.
The Apple AirPods will be available in 100 countries and territories on December 21 at $159. More updates and details are expected soon.
