‘The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim’ Latest News & Update: More Active Mods In ‘The Elder Scrolls’ Titles Coming To Nintendo Switch?
Game developer Bethesda has already greenlighted "The Elder Scrolls 6," the much awaited sequel to "The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim." Rumors have recently surfaced that both titles will be coming to the Nintendo Switch, featuring better mods.
In the announcement trailer of the Nintendo Switch, a clip of "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" was included. This pretty much confirms that the game will soon be played on the console. What's even more incredible for fans is the possibility for Nintendo to allow mods. Of course, the modding community can't wait for this.
These rumors sparked from the fact that Nintendo consoles have been witness to great mods. Examples would include "Super Smash Brothers" and "Super Mario Sunshine." This was also seen in in various titles of the "Pokemon" franchise, which is why fans are hopeful of the same fate for "The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim."
There is a big chance that the next title in "The Elder Scrolls" franchise would be made available for the Nintendo Switch. Bethesda is one of Nintendo's partners for the console so it is possible that as part of their contract, they would be required to develop "The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim" and "The Elder Scrolls 6" for the Switch.
"The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim" director Todd Howard previously told Glixel that he was personally excited about the console, which makes the aforementioned suggestion all the more plausible. "I think it's really smart what they're doing. We're definitely going to be supporting it. It's the first time we've done something on Nintendo," he said.
Bethesda is still busy with other projects right now like a virtual-reality-enabled edition of "Fallout 4." It is for this reason that "The Elder Scrolls 6" is expected to come out in 2019. Meanwhile, the Nintendo Switch is expected to debut in March 2017. "The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim" may be launched on the platform shortly after.
