‘Alien: Covenant’ Release Date, News & Update: Upcoming Movie Welcomes A New Face In The Cast

"Alien: Covenant" production has been done, but another cast is reportedly making his role in the movie. After launching the "Rise of the Planet of the Apes," James Franco has joined in the blockbuster prequel franchise.

James Franco reportedly has a small yet important role as a character named Branson in "Alien: Covenant" movie. He is apparently in the movie for 10 minutes or so and his role appears to be a significant one to a certain degree.

James Franco will be appearing in the "Alien: Covenant" movie as one of the crew members of the ship Covenant, he came out not just a crew member though, as his character Branson is actually the ship's captain. He also the husband of Daniels, Katherine Waterson's character.

According to The Marry Sue report, there's no plenty of information about the plot of "Alien: Covenant," but fans know it tells the story of the crew of the Covenant ship, which is on its way to what they think is an uncharted paradise of a planet. Then the planet turns out to be dark and dangerous, inhabited by the only survivor of the ill-fated Prometheus expedition, David the synthetic.

The fans were surprised by the casting comedian actor James Franco and Danny McBride. However, McBride assured that "Alien: Covenant" movie contains no-comic-relief allowed for a collective sigh of relief for many.

It is surprising to add James Franco to "Alien: Covenant" movie though. His current acting career is full of different roles to date in an expansive variety of genres. Many will even recall that Franco was being sternly considered for the lead in Shane Black's "The Predator," a role he eventually turned down, earlier this year.

Jobs N Hire cited, Franco and McBride are always being entertaining to see in comedy screen, and it is just seems a little strange watching them both in serious roles together. The both actors appeared in the 2013 movie "This Is the End," fighting some evil from another world, but of course, an absolutely spot in the "Alien: Covenant" is a different pattern.

"Alien: Covenant" movie is directed by Ridley Scott and written by John Logan and Michael Green. The schedule is set on May 19, 2017.
