Evolve From Turtle Rock Studios News: Classes, creatures and more

Evolve for Xbox One and PS4 Gets New Details

While Turtle Rock studios’ upcoming 4v1 multiplayer shooter title Evolve has already been announced and revealed via Game Informer’s latest issue, there are finer details about the game that are yet to be found out. However, that wait seems to be over now. Evolve was already teased as one of the biggest stories of the year from the GI team, and while a general overview was already provided by the team, there were other finer details about in-game classes, creatures and more that were yet to be delivered.

Now, the new details related to the same state that Turtle Rock has been working on the title for three years, and while we know that the game will be a multiplayer, there have been talks about a ‘solo experience’ that’s also expected to arrive alongside its multiplayer counterpart.

As revealed, and scripted via CVG, a studio spokesperson for the game stated that Evolve will offer "very lush and large outdoor environments" alongside "a lot of AI wildlife." Also, the player who plays the monster will leave tracks for hunters to follow as well as other "visual and aural clues".

In the meantime, while players make use of these clues to track down the monster, the monster itself will be “able to feed on wildlife in order to grow larger and more fearsome.”

As far as the in-game story is concerned, the report states, “The story of Evolve involves the settlement of humanity on distant planets.”

“The biggest frontier planet is called Shear. Hunters are tasked with making these dangerous, alien-infested planets hospitable to colonists, though aliens of Shear have evolved rapidly during the course of humanity's presence.”

Another detail related to the same speaks about how the game, although revealed as a 4v1 shooter, has been designed for 1-vs-5 multiplayer. However, fewer players than that can also participate in a session, with AI filling out the team. Apparently, players will also have the option to switch between AI characters.

It has been revealed that the players’ weapons will arrive with unlimited ammunition. Sounds pretty cool, right? Well, here’s the catch – Apparently, while the in-game Hunt mode (more modes yet to be named) will pit four human players against a human controlled monster until the death, the monster player can complete objectives in order to win in that time. Unlimited ammo doesn’t seem like that special an offering now, does it?

Also, if you die as hunter, you can only be revived three times before you’re officially kicked off from the game, with players offered the option to play the game as a part of any in-game class they want. The classes include Assault, Medics, Support and Trappers.

“Assault focuses on aggression, Medics can provide health boosts to the team, Support can apply various power ups and shields to the team, while Trappers can contain the monsters,” the report adds.

As of now, Evolve has been announced for PS4, Xbox One and PC, although a probable release date remains yet to be finalized.
