OnePlus 3 Android 7.0 Nougat Second Beta Build Brings Handful of Features OTA

The Android 7.0 Nougat second open beta build is being rolled out by OnePlus for OnePlus 3. It's officially known as the OxygenOS Open Beta 9 and this Nougat-based firmware brings with it expanded screenshots and optimizations for the user interface, DPI settings and battery performance. The first Nougat testing release for OnePlus 3 came in November and now the Chinese mobile maker is already providing improvements.

The OnePlus 3 OS now has improved performance and stability. The update has also brought some general bug fixes. Users of the handset will receive an over-the-air update for the second open beta build of Android 7.0 Nougat. Those who are new to open beta, they need to flash this one using the ADB sideload, writes GSMArena. This will allow users to receive over-the-air updates whenever they are released.

However, once a user opts for open beta, he will not receive OTA updates for the final, official and stable OxygenOS releases. To receive that users need to roll back to the official build though that will wipe phone data. Thus, if you are already a part of the OnePlus 3 beta program, you will receive the new beta build over-the-air. OnePlus is also updating the OnePlus 3T to Android 7.0 Nougat.

The final update will drop for both OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T by the end of 2016 thought the beta build are not available to OnePlus 3T users, writes Phone Arena. The OnePlus 3 is a pretty great handset that shipped with the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. It has a 5.5-inch Optic AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset and Adreno 530 GPU.

With 64GB internal storage, 6GB RAM and 16MP primary/8MP front camera, OnePlus 3 is an amazing handset to own. Now that the Android 7.0 Nougat update is arriving, it will surely become at par with other top handsets.
