iPad Air 3 Release Date, Specs Features, News & Update: Apple To Discontinue iPad Air Series After Imminent Tablet? More Details
It's been two years since Apple released the iPad Air 2, with no official announcements of the iPad Air 3 coming out anytime soon. Although some believe that it would come out next year, there are rumors circulating that the iPad Air 3 may be the last in this specific line of tablets. With so many versions of the iPad, it becomes increasingly difficult for consumers to tell them apart, especially for those who aren't tech-savvy and just want a tablet for everyday use.
With the introduction and the updating of the iPad Pro, MacRumors predicted that Apple would struggle to differentiate this with the iPad Air 3. Since the iPad Pro is the more premium one of the two tablets, it might be logical for the Cupertino-based tech giant to just stop manufacturing the iPad Air.
As for its features, the iPad Air 3 is expected to come with a 9.7-inch 4k display and an A10 processor. Like what was done with the iPhone 7, the tablet's headphone jack may be removed for it to become thinner than the iPad Air 2, from 6.1 millimeters thick to only 5 mm. It may also include a dual-camera setup and 3D touch support.
Apple iPad Air 3 release date
The iPad Air 3 is rumored to debut along with the iPad Mini 5 and the iPad Pro 2 in March 2017. Apple is said to be holding an event this spring so tech enthusiasts are hopeful for its release.
Christmas shoppers can head over to Best Buy because the tech store just adjusted the price of the iPad Air 3. It used to be at least $400 but now, customers can get it at $100 off. It's not unusual for stores to slash prices when new devices are about to come out.
A spring release for the iPad Air 3 is highly likely. Outlets such as BestBuy have been lowering the prices for the iPad Air 2, perhaps to slowly dispose of their stock and make way for the new edition of the tablet which may be available in a few months time.
