Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians told the press that they will be having a roster change, and he was not ready to talk about it. However, later on it was admitted by Arians that the decision came unanimously as general manager Steve Keim and team president Michael Bidwill decided to let Michael Floyd go, as reported by ESPN.
Michael Bidwill, team president of Arizona Cardinals, said on a statement: "It's a statement. We had a difficult decision to make there. Coach Arians talks to all of the team after games, before bye weekends and around holidays. He always makes sure that he emphasizes what our standards are, which is don't be 'the guy'. And also to be focusing on what you're supposed to be doing for the team."
But what happened to Michael Floyd? According to reports, the Arizona Cardinals wide receiver was found unconscious behind the wheel at Scottsdale intersection early Monday morning. His engine was running, while his right foot is on the brakes. As mentioned, he was under the influence of alcohol while driving.
Regarding his release, the Arizona Cardinal team members felt distraught, as they believe Floyd should have been given a chance. Quarterback Carson Palmer expressed, "It's a tough day. Mike's a close friend of mine, offseason golfing buddy, workout partner, so it's tough. I believe in Mike. I hope for nothing but the best for Mike, and look forward seeing what he does with the next opportunity he gets."
All other team members feel the same way, as they seem to never want Mike to go despite his careless action. Arizona Cardinals' Tyrann Mathieu hopes that his friend Mike can have a second chance because he believes he deserves it.
