Mortal Kombat News & Update: 'Mortal Kombat X' Kombat Pack 3 Equipped With Freddy Krueger; New DLC Released

"Kombat Pack 3" has dealt with many numerous delays for the DLC because of NetherRealm Studios have decided to just focus on "Injustice 2." However, a new DLC was released and added a new character to the game's roster.

Freddie Krueger joins the "Mortal Kombat X" mobile game in its latest updated version 1.11; new content is still being regularly added to the game. The latest update brought horror villains to join the fray of classic "Mortal Kombat" mainstays. Horror villains like, Leatherface, Predator, Jason Voorhees, and a Xenomorph were added into the game. The nightmare on Elm street horror icon can now cast fatalities and participate in death matches in-game. It is worth mentioning that Jason from "Friday The 13th" is also part of the new DLC.

"The DLC is now available for download; the same DLC was also added to Mortal Kombat IX. However, it was limited to mobile only. With that being said, PC players could not fully enjoy Freddy Krueger and Jason on a bigger screen," as stated by NetherRealm in a twitter post.

Mortal Kombat X update 1.11 also equipped with some character costumes as well as a new game mode called "Shao Kahn's Tower." Primarily, the enticing reason to update is to have a huge rivalry between Freddy and Jason.

There has been no announcement for the release date of the highly anticipated "Mortal Kombat Pack 3 DLC." However, the studio is focused on the creation of "Injustice 2," a sequel to the original hit of the same name. The delay will set back Pack 3 for at least four months before the developers can go back and work for its release, according to sources.

"Mortal Kombat X" is available on PS4, Xbox One, PC and mobile devices. Though the Mortal Kombat X Freddy Krueger DLC is limited to MKX Mobile, just like how it was for "Mortal Kombat IX."
