‘The Sims 5’ Release Date, Latest News & Update: EA Auditing Fourth Installment As Wait For Fifth Edition Ramps Up

EA has yet to reveal any bit regarding “The Sims 5” though most believe the company would be foolish not to release one. The franchise has done well in the past until it stumbled with “The Sims 4”.

To somehow cover up the losses, EA resorted to adding DLCs for “The Sims 4”. The last one was “City Living” DLC, pegged to rack in revenue for game developers to move on to “The Sims 5” as mentioned in a previous post. So has EA amassed enough to decide the fate of the sequel?

“The Sims 4: City Living” seems to be doing well as most life-simulation players are kept busy. The fact that most are aware of the updates and the new stuff speaks well. This is a paid DLC and the only way for players to see the new content is to pay up.

The actual sales numbers on “The Sims 4: City Living” is unknown but most believe that EA will release “The Sims 5” anyway. Looking at it from another angle, the new features and items on the DLCs could be a sign of things to come.

The shift to urban life is a possibility for “The Sims 5”, expanding possibilities. For now, the only thing mentioned in the grapevine is the adoption of “virtual reality” a big step that could be risky as well.

With advanced technology, seeing “The Sims 5” played on VR could include actually interacting and being a Sim, Neurogadget reported. For now, that remains a theory though most would love to see what the EA game developers could possibly come up with.

Confirmation on what to expect is sketchy but the best bet is “The Sims 5” happening. Using the shortcoming and added content of “The Sims 4” and “City Living”, EA can rebound in a big way and make the game more appealing once more.
