Google Pixel Latest News & Update: Android 7.1.1 Nougat Fixes Connectivity Issues; Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge Gets Roll Out Sched

Google Pixel is slated to get the latest OS Android 7.1.1 Build. It is expected that the OS update would be able to fix the LTE Connectivity issues that reportedly plague the Google Pixel handsets. Moreover, the Camera App has reportedly been redesigned for the Nexus devices.

Latest reports reveal that while other smartphones started receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat, the Google Pixel and Nexus phones got the Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Note that not all Google Pixel and Nexus users may get the OS update at the same time. Moreover, several users may also opt to manually check their phones for updates and download the OS update themselves.

Google Pixel has also been noted to receive the tech giant's final monthly security update for the year as well. Currently, Google has also posted a new build of the OS update to the developer site for both the Google Pixel and the Pixel XL smartphones. It has been noted that the company is set on fixing the previously reported connectivity issues on the handset, Gadgets 360 reported.

It should be noted that several Google Pixel users have complained in November. Apparently, the users had issues with connectivity on the phone especially regarding the LTE band 4 frequency. Note that with the OS update, the said users have noted that the issues have already been fixed.

In other news, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are also slated to receive the Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Apparently, the two handset models may be the first non-Nexus and non Google Pixel handsets to receive the OS update. An XDA forum user reportedly revealed the news, Indian Express reported.

Google Pixel have been noted among the first handsets to get the update along with the Nexus 8, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X and the Pixel Tablet. In addition, the Nexus player and General Mobile 4G Android One devices have been getting the update too. The OS update is slated to bring multiple screen and new emoji, among other features.
