Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Release Date, Specs, News & Update: May 2017 Launching Expected? Hybrid Device Better than Apple’s MacBook Pro, Air?

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 has been a subject of numerous rumors and speculations since the beginning of the year. Many fans expected the hybrid PC-tablet to arrive before the year ends; however, Microsoft has yet to officially announce the device leading fans to speculate that it would not come out until next year. New rumors have emerged suggesting that Surface Pro 5 will finally be launched in spring of 2017.

Although Microsoft has yet to confirm the reports, there are speculations saying that the company might reveal the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 during the much-awaited Consumer Electronics Show, which is expected to happen in Las Vegas starting Jan. 5. However, some industry experts believe that the Redmond-based company might go for a May release of Surface Pro 5 as it is expected to hold its own Microsoft Build 2017 developer conference, which has already been announced to happen on May 10.

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Specs, Features

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 has always been rumored to run on impressive specs and features including the powerful Kaby Lake chipset from Intel. The powerful processor will be paired with up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB internal storage capacity. The Surface Pro 5 has also been speculated to have a special Surface Pen that automatically charges itself whenever it is attached to the tablet.

Previous rumors suggested that Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will most likely run on Windows 10 Redstone 2; however, new speculations suggest that the hybrid PC-tablet will be shipped with Windows 10 Redstone 3. If rumors prove to be true, BGR believes that the surface pro 5 will come out as the toughest competition for Apple's MacBook Air and the new MacBook Pro.

Meanwhile, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 has already been speculated to arrive in January; however, Microsoft has yet to provide the official details of its release date. Fans are positive that the company will make the announcement anytime soon.
