Sacred 3 Trailer Released: Co-Op Action RPG Coming to PC and Consoles This Summer

Debut Trailer for Action RPG Sacred 3 Features Thrilling Bridge Combat

Deep Silver has just sent over the debut trailer for Sacred 3, the third installment to the beloved action RPG franchise. It's set to hit PC and consoles (Xbox 360 and PS3) this summer, bringing gamers back to the land of Ancarian with an emphasis on co-op multiplayer.

"The paramount development goal for Sacred 3 has been to create a seamless online and offline co-op experience", said Remy van Leeuwen, Brand Manager of Deep Silver, in a statement. "By creating a game built around the central concept of co-op gameplay, we're expanding the series to new audiences without compromising the rich lore and fantasy of the Sacred universe."

The game will feature drop-in, drop-out co-op multiplayer both online and off. Offline multiplayer is limited to two players, while online can support four. The game brings back many characters from the series such as the Seraphim, Ancarian, Khukuhru and the Safiri, as well as new character Malakhim, which is presumably the shadowy figure shown in the CGI trailer below. The trailer doesn't show any actual gameplay but instead shows our heroes battling on bridge, attempting to save one of their own.

The last installment of the Sacred franchise was Sacred Citadel, a prequel to the events of Sacred 3. It's a downloadable title for XBLA and PSN that's much different than the rest of the series, a side-scrolling beat'm up with cartoony hyperstylized art. It's one of the best-received entries, though, so we'll see if they can keep that going with this new installment.

You have to love the goal, at least. The emphasis in Sacred 3 is on helping your fellow companions, but not so much that they outshine you. You're the hero, after all- you deserve all the credit. Check out the trailer below and keep all the glory for yourself.
