Samsung Galaxy S5 Video Teaser for Upcoming Reveal: Emphasizes Activity, Fitness [Video]

New Galaxy S5 Video Teaser Focuses on Activity, Fitness, and Living Life

Samsung is set to reveal the Galaxy S5 during its Unpacked event at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week, and continues to drop hints about the new smartphone. The Galaxy S3 and S4 have been huge hits, and we've been hearing rumors of S5 features. Now, Samsung shows us the first teaser video for the device, and some definite things it will focus on: fitness, activity and...water?

There is a lot of stress on being active, exploring and living life with your S5 at hand in this teaser. It's a marketing move that tries to make you understand that this phone is meant for the fun person-on-the-go as words like "free" "life" "speed" and "fit" come and go on the screen, and it's all set to some admittedly catchy, upbeat music.

The new camera modes I recently wrote about included an 'Aqua' setting, and now this trailer shows "wet" as one of the many words that flash across the screen, emphasizing it with a slow-motion stop. Samsung also shows a man underwater playing the trumpet, while displaying the word "talent". I'm not sure what is driving their decision to include all of these underwater features (is there some large sumberged-photography market I'm unaware of?), but it is intriguing.

The slow-motion footage in the trailer may not just be a marketing effect--it potentially hints at the ability to capture such video yourself on the S5, since it's something you can do on the iPhone 5S. Given the rumored expansion of camera and video options on the S5, this would fit into their philosophy, and the Korean giant has no problem going feature-for-feature with Apple.

The speculation can cease once the conference begins on Monday, with Samsung presenting at 8pm, which will be 2pm EST. The Galaxy S5 is still largely a mystery, but this teaser helped shed some light on the direction they're going in, and all will be revealed soon.
